Apple's Talking iPod: The 3rd Generation Shuffle

The web is buzzing about the new iPod shuffle. However, maybe the new unit can speak for itself -- literally.
That's right; your iPod can now talk. Don't expect the sounds of Ozzy, Iron Maiden or other metal bands to ask you to do the work of the devil. Instead, the latest and lightest version of
Apple's shuffle player includes a VoiceOver feature, which will announce song titles, artists and playlist names.
For those of you missing the screen, this is a nice feature. It even announces battery life. Without that screen, Apple was able to scrunch the unit down, to less than the size of an AA battery.
Still, it packs in plenty of music; the 4GB unit should hold about 1,000 songs, which are accessible via controls located on the earphone cord.
The new iPod shuffle can speak 14 languages including English, Czech, Dutch, French, German, Greek, Italian, Japanese, Mandarin Chinese, Polish, Portuguese, Spanish, Swedish and Turkish. Available in silver and black, the unit boasts up to 10 hours of battery life. It's available now for $79.
