An LED TV for $269.99? Believe it. VIZIO's VM190XVT

By Big Picture Big Sound Deal Meister

Although Samsung may have invented the "LED TV" category with a massive advertising and marketing campaign to support their 2009 HDTV line, VIZIO is bringing it to new lows (price wise) with a 19-inch LED HDTV model that sells for around $350.  If you buy it on Amazon, you can shave $80 off that price and get it delivered to your home for just $269.99. Here's the link:

The VM190XVT, a 19-inch HDTV, features a 1366x768 pixel LCD panel lit from the edges with white LEDs, classifying it as an "LED TV" based on the current nomenclature.  No, it's not a real LED TV, but neither are the models from Samsung, Sony, Toshiba or LG.  The term LED TV has recently become commonly used to describe LCD TVs that use an LED backlighting (or edge-lighting) system as opposed to CCFL tubes.  These LED lights allow the TV to be brighter and more power efficient than traditional CCFL lit LCD TVs.

The VM190XVT includes elegant, touch sensitive controls that light up when your hand draws near as well as an integrated ambient light sensor to adjust brightness based on current room lighting.  SRS TruVolume reduces volume inconsistencies between shows and commercials and SRS TruSurround HD produces immersive virtual HD surround sound.

The set's dynamic contrat ratio is specified at 20:000 to 1, and brightness comes in at 300 nits.  For compatibility with a wide variety of sources, the VM190XVT comes with 2 HDMI inputs, as well as component and composite inputs. It even sports a VGA (DB15) input for use as a computer monitor.
