Following the success of the award-winning 3M MPro110 pocket-sized Pico projector, launched less than a year ago, the second-generation MPro120 is the result of extensive research, bringing the functionality of Pico projectors to a new level. As the only second-generation Pico projector on the market, the MPro120 is the very first to incorporate 3M's new MM200 projection engine, which utilizes an advanced liquid crystal on silicon (LCOS) electronic imager for enhanced VGA image quality with a full color gamut.
Depending upon the brightness setting selected, the MPro120 can offer a robust battery life of two to four hours, plenty-long to watch a typical Hollywood blockbuster. At its "High" brightness, the 20,000-hour LED light source achieves a whopping 12 lumens.
The included features are many, and quite handy. The projector is designed with an integrated flip-stand and half-watt stereo speakers, and comes bundled with its own tripod and an assortment of audio/video cables. It arrives is ready-to-use right out of the box with a wide range of today's most popular video source components. At a recent press event in New York City, we simply used a laptop PC: As with the MPro110, the new 5.6-ounce MPro120 is an extremely versatile projection solution for an ultra-portable world, capable of displaying an image as small as eight or as large as 50 inches.
Available optional accessories include an adapter cable for Apple products, component video cable and car charger, to be sold separately. The MPro120 became available this month at an estimated price of $349.
