At a list price of $3399.99 Samsung's D7000 series of plasma TVs is high-end, in its performance, styling and feature set, as well as the price. But as they say, you get what you pay for.

Now, you need to now that this TV is on Amazon, but it's sold through marketplace sellers such as "Paul's TV." They're a highly rated merchant, and their items are fulfilled through Amazon so shipping is included in the price. As part of Samsung's D7000 series, this HDTV does include support for 3D, as well as the 2D-to-3D conversion feature. However, if you want to take advantage of that 3D viewing experience, you will also need to buy Samsung 3D glasses as well as a Blu-ray 3D player (for the highest quality 3D experience)
Until you have the extras, this makes for an excellent 2D TV. Besides the 1080p full high def resolution, this set boasts an ultra fast response time, and 600Hz subfield motion drive technology for excellent blur-free motion reproduction. ConnectShare Movie features add-in digital content from an external source, such as a USB thumb drive or digital camera. Also, if you want to add in even more external sources, the PN64D7000 has four HDMI inputs, two component inputs, a USB port and a PC input.
All of that is great, but Samsung's Smart TV features make this set even greater. The Smart TV platform adds on-screen access to web-based services, such as Netflix, Hulu Plus, Pandora, YouTube, Facebook, VUDU and much more -- all from the included remote control. Samsung's VUDU app even supports VUDU 3D titles, so you can stream a good selection of recent release movies in high quality 3D. There should be enough Samsung apps to keep you busy for the New Year and beyond, including Explore 3DTV, which provides a little 3D peek at movie trailers, TV shows, and other content: even some full length films.
From what we're hearing, this year inventory is pretty tight, so if you wait too long to buy it, you might be disappointed.
