Sunday/Dimanche, Patrick Doyon
The Fantastic Flying Books of Dr. Lessmore, William Joyce
La Luna, Enrico Casaroasa
A Morning Stroll, Grant Orchard
Wild Life, Amanda Forbis
A poor enough group that I question whether the industry has gone south or if the best work isn't being selected.
"Sunday/Dimanche" The National Film Board of Canada, one of the best groups in animation, brings us the story of a young boy who has to go through the boredom of going to church, followed by accompanying his family to a relative's house. Cute, and at times amusing.
"The Fantastic Flying Books of Dr. Lessmore" A beautiful homage to books and reading. Excellent animation and an interesting story.
"La Luna" A decent-looking but boring voyage to clean falling stars off the moon. Very non-descript.
"A Morning Stroll" Based on a short story, it features a scene that repeats three times, in the present, 50 years in the future, and 100 years in the future. The one that is 100 years in the future rocks, with a zombie at the center of it all.
"Wild Life" A second entry from the National Film Board of Canada, it features a young Englishman with more enthusiasm than practical experience as he emigrates to Canada to become a rancher. Wow, is this one boring.
